International Flights

Kiribati has two international gateways – located in Tarawa and Kiritimati (Christmas Island) – serviced by three airlines offering direct connections to Nadi (Fiji), Nauru, and Majuro (Marshall Islands).

Tarawa (Bonriki International Airport – TRW)

Fiji Airways offers twice-weekly direct flights to Tarawa from Nadi, Fiji, departing every Monday and Thursday. The flight takes approximately 3 hours and provides a smooth and reliable connection between Kiribati and one of the Pacific’s main air travel hubs. Through codeshare agreements with Qantas and Cathay Pacific, passengers can connect easily from Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and several Asian cities, making Tarawa more accessible to global travelers and investors.

It also runs a multi-stop regional route connecting Brisbane → Honiara → Nauru → Tarawa, offering a valuable air bridge from Australia to Kiribati. Flights typically arrive in Tarawa on Monday mornings and return to Brisbane via the same route on Wednesdays around noon, supporting both passenger and business travel across the Pacific.
